The ARC Of Love

Could this be the norm? How I dream of love’s true form I think I see in part As it begins with an ARC For in what shape truly is a heart Unlike any I’ve seen in art Perhaps I may never know But it is there; it is so It thumps, beats, and skips Whenever it’s you I’m with It’s tracing and racing, yours and mine Surely we are, this art divine And these arms open wide A moment later… you’re inside Around you they do close If only you could know Yet I hope you never wonder There could never be another That could belong right here Just you, I hold so near Even fingers trace their paths They tickle and you laugh Your body’s curves and valleys So much more to see To find, to search, to navigate However will I find my way? Could there be a more perfect world You and me, a boy and girl Some muscles are for A Moment Like This This could be ours… starts with a kiss Like Shakespeare… let lips and hands If we could know and love understand Secrets whispers by bated breath What is it that comes next? Another arc, some other line Still dreaming of that, first time Love’s true form will take its shape We’ll wait and see, what shape it takes Maybe someday, we will make Today I think this lover’s style Will be an arc… will be a smile
