Super Bowl Weekend .. Parties, fun, food and .... Super Bowl weekend is upon us! Yes, it is that time of year where we find ourselves gather in front of a TV, by ourselves or groups of friends, family or just other fans to watch the Super Bowl! Maybe you are the the type who watches the commercials during the game, to see the hottest and most expensive (The homemade Doritos commercials are fun this year) or maybe you use the game as a time to socialize and enjoy the company of others or to find new "others" to be company to! Super Bowl Sunday has been good to me over the last many years! Most of these occurred even before it was the national event it is today. The memories of heading out to hang out at USC to watch Pittsburgh crush Dallas with friends and luckily meeting the hot older 21 year old red-head with freckles (Tri Delta) in 1976 (I wonder where Marcia is today), then going to my first Super Bowl in 1977 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena buying ticket from a scalper for $20.00, hanging out at a bar in the San "Porn"-ando Valley in 1978 and getting lucky meeting up with an older couple who were "wife swappers" ...whoa the memories. Yes there were several games that were blah, or issues occurring like my ex stopping by and disrupting a party I hosted in 1996 and confronted my tall Volleyball playing then lover (and Dallas Cowboys won sadly). What is in store this year? Will it be great food as always, a new lover stopping by to enjoy the game, my friends, me or all of the above?
